Jute fibers are always known as strong, coarse, environment friendly, and organic. Jute uses were formally tied to marginal and small manufacturers and growers. But now it is used as important raw materials for several industries. It is unfortunated that jute still lags behind other fibers like silk, wool, and cotton. However at present time, jute is termed as a favorite fabric for packaging materials and furnishings and as golden fibers for national and international fashion world. Jute fibers are used for making mats, gunny cloth, cordage, hangings, paper, and decorative articles. Prevalent uses of jute in handicraft stuff, in order to give aesthetic appeal, has made it popular across the globe.

Jute has shed its old identity known as a rugged and coarse material that was used in manufacturing gunny bags, tent, and roof coverings. Now it is used to produce a wide range of designer and stylish decorative articles such as wall hangings, coaster, lamp shades and table mats which are setting the Thames in fire not only in domestic markets but also in international markets. People are wholeheartedly accepting jute handicraft items like hammocks and napkin rings found in resorts, restaurants, and offices. Jute accessories add classic and vintage touch to interior design. Jute fibers are now used in making apparels like jacket, pull over, shoes, and etc, Such wares are comfortable, cheap, but trendy in look. Jute apparels can be put on on almost every occasion and seasons.
